No more power bills!

Because you pay for your power as you use it, you will never get a power bill again. This makes controlling your household budget a whole lot easier.

The Aurora PAY AS YOU GO meter lets you keep track of how much electricity you use on an hourly and daily basis, and tells you exactly how much credit you have left at any time. It will also warn you when your credit is getting low, reminding you to purchase extra credit next time you are passing your nearest Aurora PAY AS YOU GO Recharge Agent.

Easy-to-use Smart Card

When you sign up for Aurora PAY AS YOU GO you'll receive a personalised Smart Card that will work only on your meter. Using the Smart Card makes it easier to budget for electricity as you only buy the power you need, when you need it.

You can purchase any amount of credit up to $200. All you need to do is take the card to a registered Aurora PAY AS YOU GO Recharge Agent* where it will be recharged at an electronic terminal.

*Please note: Aurora PAY AS YOU GO Recharge Agents prefer cash transactions and are not obliged to accept cheques, EFTPOS or credit cards.

'Safety net' so you won't be caught in the dark

An amount of $10 Emergency Credit is available for times when you run out of credit and cannot immediately get to an authorised Aurora PAY AS YOU GO Recharge Agent to recharge your Smart Card. As the name suggests, it should only be used in emergencies!

When your credit gets down to $5, the display screen on your meter will give you a reminder that you will need to purchase more credit. It will also make the $10 Emergency Credit available. As a further back-up, even if you run out of Emergency Credit between 3 pm and 10 am and all weekend your power won't shut off, giving you time to get to your Aurora PAY AS YOU GO Recharge Agent and recharge your card.

Different rates at different times

Aurora PAY AS YOU GO offers 'Time of Use' pricing which means that you can take advantage of different electricity rates at different times of the day. So by timing your electricity usage - for instance running electrical applicances such as washing machines, dryers and dishwashers at night - you should notice a saving in your power costs. Even simple things like doing the ironing in a cheaper timeslot will potentially save you money.

Helps the household budget

Aurora PAY AS YOU GO lets you pull the plug on power bills and take control of your finances. Your Aurora PAY AS YOU GO meter shows you exactly how much power you're using at any given time, and provides information to help you take advantage of cheaper rates a different times of the day. You can recharge your card with an amount that suits you whenever you are near an Aurora PAY AS YOU GO Recharge Agent and you'll never have to worry about being surprised by a big or unexpected power bill again!

Aurora PAY AS YOU GO is also great if you are sharing household expenses with others. You don't have to worry about trying to divide the bill - just take turns putting credit on your Smart Card.
